This Privacy Policy describes how Morbyte (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and handles information when you install and use our Shopify apps.
What We Collect
When you install one of our apps, we collect only what is necessary to operate the service:
- Shop domain — to identify your store and provide the app’s functionality
- API access token — to interact with your Shopify store on your behalf (read/write permissions depend on the specific app and are listed in each app’s Shopify listing)
We do not collect personal data from your store’s customers. We do not collect merchant email addresses or any other merchant profile information unless you contact us directly.
How We Use It
We use the data solely to:
- Authenticate and serve your store within the app
- Maintain and improve the app’s functionality
- Diagnose technical issues via server-side logs
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to operating the app.
Logs
We maintain server-side application logs on our own infrastructure for the purpose of error monitoring and debugging. Logs may contain your shop domain and request metadata. Logs are retained for a limited period and are not shared with third parties.
Third Parties
We do not sell or share your data with third parties. We use our own servers to store and process data. No third-party analytics, tracking, or advertising services are used.
Data Retention
Your shop domain and API token are stored for as long as the app is installed on your store. Upon uninstallation, your data is deleted within 48 hours. If you wish to request immediate deletion, contact us at hello@morbyte.com.
Your Rights
If you are located in the European Union or California, you may have additional rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access, correct, or delete information we hold about you. To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@morbyte.com.
Security
We take reasonable technical measures to protect the data we process. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Access to production systems and databases is restricted to authorized personnel only.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of our apps after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
